Parchman Farm Band was probably one of the earliest successful bands that Todd played in. It consisted of Todd Galanter(bass), Brian Perotti(drums) Gary Grabcheck(guitar) and Derrick Procell(lead vocals and harmonica).
Parchman Farm was a blues band and Derrickās vocals and harp were pretty much the cornerstone of Parchman Farms sound. I remember one gig in particular. The band was selected to play at the UWM union ballroom for an anti-war rally. Parchman Farm played second on the bill in front of the headline band (which I can't remember the name of) By the time Parchman Farm had reached the end of their alloted time on stage, the house was packed to capacity and the crowd was really rock'n. At the end of Parchman Farms last number, a roar from the crowd went up the likes if which I had never heard before; demanding more from the band. Parchman farm played one more number and then had to vacate the stage (much to the disappointment of the crowd) to allow the headline band to come on. That was one heck of a night!
